I just discovered Gaia Framework (http://www.gaiaflashframework.com/), an open-source Flash framework which seems promising.
To quote their website:

I had some frustrating experience with frameworks in other languages (they usually help but also generate some frustratations when it comes to edges cases) – Still I ll definitly give a try to this one.
